The Friends of the Capstone is a philanthropic group of remarkable alumni and friends of The University of Alabama, all of whom hold a deep love for the UA community. As members of the Friends of the Capstone, we believe in the power of unity and collaboration. By providing opportunities and support, we empower deserving students to pursue their dreams and contribute to UA’s vibrant legacy.

Members’ minimum annual contribution is $200. Three-fourths of the $200 annual contribution is applied to the organization’s support fund, and one-fourth is applied to the endowed scholarship fund. Total annual contributions that exceed $200 are optional and welcomed, as additional dollars will be applied to the Friends of the Capstone Endowed Scholarship.

Potential new members are nominated for consideration by current members through our online form. Nominees are reviewed once per year and are officially inducted at the spring meeting and luncheon. This constitutes one of two annual meetings for the Friends of the Capstone, the other being a fall gathering.

Together, we can make a lasting impact on The University of Alabama for years to come.

Members of the Friends of the Capstone are encouraged to nominate friends they feel have the potential to positively impact and grow this prestigious organization.

Please note that nominees are voted on by the Executive Council once per year in the spring. Nominees who are accepted by the Executive Council will then be invited to attend and be inducted at the annual Spring Luncheon. Members of the Friends of the Capstone are encouraged to nominate members to serve on either the Executive Council or Scholarship Committee. The Executive Council is composed of no more than 15 members and typically meets twice a year. The Scholarship Committee meets once a year, usually at the end of March.
